Located in Historic Downtown Petaluma, directly across from City Hall, the Petaluma Creamery has been an integral part of the farming tradition in the Sonoma County area since its foundation in 1913.  The facility was recently purchased and reopened by Larry Peter, the owner of Spring Hill Jersey Cheese Co.

Larry has been a dairy man for the last 18 years, and continues to support Sonoma County dairy farmers as well create employment opportunities for locals.  Running the Petaluma Creamery will not only keep alive the premium cheese-making tradition that kept the facility in the hands of farmers for so long, it will help save future generations of local dairies by giving them a nearby processor for up to 1 million pounds of their high quality milk, every day.

Besides housing a top-notch production facility, the Petaluma Creamery’s Store will soon be re-opened to the public.  Before its closure the store was one of the most well-known locations in all of Petaluma, and is remembered fondly by everyone who grew up in the area.  In order to bring back that community tradition the store will sell approximately 25 varieties of local artisan cheeses, imported cheeses, old fashion milk shakes as well as holiday gift packs. You can also enjoy fresh coffee and espressos, along with breads from nearby Lombardi’s Bakery.  Visit the store on Western Ave, next to the historic Petaluma Creamery in downtown Petaluma.
